Rosemary was born on April 10, 1926, in Lake View, Iowa, to George A. and Florence M. (Staley) Meyers. She graduated from Lake View High School in 1944. She continued her education at St. Margaret’s School of Nursing in Kansas City, Kansas, graduating in 1947, earning her Diploma Degree in Nursing. She worked at St. Margaret’s Hospital for nine years before returning home to work at Loring Hospital, in Sac City, and met the love of her life, John Mohr. Rosemary and John were married on December 27, 1956, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wall Lake. To this union five children were born: Tim, Jean, Martin, Paula and Ann.

She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother who found happiness in raising her children and keeping a warm and comfortable home for her family. She enjoyed attending her children’s musical school events, reading, swimming and helping John with chores on the farm. From 1964 until her retirement on December 1, 1988, she worked part-time as a registered nurse at Loring Hospital. She cared for her patients with love and a friendly smile. Her family, however, was always most important in Rosemary’s life. She will be missed by many.

Rosemary was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Early.

Survivors include her children: Tim Mohr and wife Ann of Early; Dr. Jean Mohr of Spirit Lake; and Paula Wallerstedt and husband Bryan of Sac City; six grandchildren: Abby Mohr of Cedar Falls, Michael and Emily Mohr both of Early, and Clay, Olivia, and Sophie Wallerstedt all of Sac City. Other survivors include her brother-in-law Vincent Katch of Des Moines and sisters-in-law: Elayne (Vern) Reiman of Carroll and Mary Margaret (Duane) Wachter of Hinton, IA; and many extended family members and friends.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents; husband John on April 29, 2005; daughter Ann; son Martin; brother Eugene Meyers; John’s brother Kenneth Mohr and wife Leslie; and John’s sister Lois Katch.
