Pauline Dublinske

Pauline Dublinske, age 86, of South Sioux City, Nebraska, formerly of Odebolt, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2008, at Regency Square Care Center in South Sioux City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 3rd, at the United Methodist Church in Odebolt. Burial will be at the Odebolt Cemetery under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home.

Pauline was born July 14, 1921, to John and Hazel (Thomas) Blum at Scranton, Iowa. She was raised in Odebolt, Iowa. On February 21, 1942, Pauline was united in marriage to Emmet Dublinske in Dakota City, Nebraska. They lived in Odebolt before moving to Yankton, South Dakota. In 1982 they moved back to Odebolt. Emmet passed away on November 30, 1999. They had been married for 57 years.

Pauline was a member of the Odebolt Methodist Church. She taught Bible school and was a youth counselor. She was a member of the Odebolt Nursing and Rehab Center Auxiliary, the Rebekah Lodge, Women’s Relief Care, and other clubs. While they lived in Yankton, she belonged to a Women’s Club and did babysitting. While in Odebolt, she worked at Twilight Acres and in the lunchroom at the Odebolt School.

She enjoyed doing crafts, sewing, crocheting, quilting, and reading. She made an afghan for all of her grandchildren, which they will treasure for years to come. She loved to travel and spend time with her family.

Pauline is survived by two sons: Dr. Stan Dublinske and his wife Dr. Diane Paul of Rockville, MD; and Neil Dublinske and wife Patricia of Odebolt; a daughter Roxie Hirsch and her husband Ron of South Sioux City, Nebraska; daughter-in-law Judy Dublinske-Mendez of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her sister Mardell Shade of Lake View, Iowa; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons: Larry and Lance; grandson Jake Dublinske; great-granddaughter Paisley Skye Hirsch; her parents; two brothers: Clifford and Raymond Blum; and three sisters: Darlene Ends, Berdena Hase and Thelma McClintic.
