Helen M. Henson, age 87, of Sac City, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2008, at Loring Hospital in Sac City.  Helen was born on July 28, 1920, to Beulah (Davis) and Amos Wright in Bruno Township, Pine County, Minnesota.  The family moved to Sac City when Helen was just an infant.  She graduated from Sac City High School.
    
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, January 30th at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City.  Burial will be at the Oakland Cemetery.
    
Visitation is from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 29th at the funeral home with the family present.
    
On December 7, 1938, Helen was united in marriage to Gale Marlin Henson in Sac City.  To this union eight children were born, who all survive her: Barb (Waldo) Christiansen of Stillwater, MN: Marlin (Bonnie) Henson of Sac City; Howard (Rosemary) Henson of Storm Lake, IA; Darrell (Linda) Henson of Omaha, NE; LaVern (Cheri) Henson of Carroll, IA; Donald Henson of Sac City; Lola (Russ) Paeper of Cherokee, IA; and Janet (Mike) Kellogg of Remsen, IA.  She was a member of the Baptist Church in Sac City.
    
Helen was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She enjoyed visiting with family and her special friends and neighbors.  She liked to crochet and quilt and made her home comfortable and welcome for everyone.  Her great cooking will be missed.  One of her fondest memories was when her husband surprised her with a china hutch at Christmas and another special time was celebrating her 80th birthday and having all her family present.  She especially loved visits from her grandkids and seeing her great-great-granddaughter, Keirstynn.  She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
    
Other survivors left to cherish her memory include: 22 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; her sister Vera Miller and husband Mardis of Carlton, MN; sisters-in-law Shirley Wright of Danbury, IA, and Aleen Alexander of Chicago, IL; extended family members and friends.
    
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Beulah Wright; in-laws Harvey and Golda Henson; husband Gale; brothers: Russell and Merle Wright; and great-grandson Zachary David Henson.
