David Calvin Jones, age 75, of Sac City, Iowa, passed away on Easter Sunday, March 23, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

Dave was born in Iowa City on March 12, 1933, the son of Donald and Clara Mae (Topham) Jones. The family moved to Shenandoah, Iowa in 1942 and Clarinda, Iowa in 1948. Dave attended grade school in Iowa City and Shenandoah and graduated from Clarinda High School in 1951. He continued his education at Clarinda Jr. College and Iowa State University in Ames. He served in the United States Army for two years with one year in Germany.

Dave was married to Donna Lee Head of New Market, Iowa, on August 12, 1956. Two daughters were born to this union: Rhonda and Julie. They farmed in Southwest Iowa the first 18 years of their married life. Dave joined the banking field and they moved to Northwest Iowa where he was a Loan Officer for Production Credit of Storm Lake for nine years and then joined Citizens Bank of Sac City as a Loan Officer and Vice President for 17 years. He retired in June of 2001.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Lion’s Club, Occidental Masonic Lodge, No. 178 A.F. & A.M., and past member of the Kiwanis Club all of Sac City.

Dave was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother who cherished his family. Survivors include his daughters and their husbands: Rhonda and Brent Mangold of Storm Lake, Iowa, and Julie and Greg Mooney of Council Bluffs, Iowa; six grandchildren: Kevin Mangold, Alicia Buchholz, Andrea Mangold, and Kara, Kelsey, and Kyle Mooney; great-grandson Wilson Mangold; two sisters: Mary Rhopa la Cierra of St. Augustine, Florida, and Kathy Jones of N. Fort Myers, Florida; extended family members; and many friends.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents and wife Donna on December 5, 2005.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 29th at the United Methodist Church in Sac City with Pastor Vicki Fisher officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Sac City under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, March 28th at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City.
