Bonnie H. Carroll
Bonnie Hazel (Fry) Carroll was born March 29, 1924, to parents Viola (Divers) Fry and Charley Fry in Jefferson City, Missouri. She lived in Kansas as a young child and then moved to Missouri with her parents and siblings. Bonnie attended country school and graduated eighth grade.
She married Warren W. Carroll on June 13, 1941. They were the parents of two daughters: Dennice and Peggy, and two sons: Wesley and Jeffrey. Bonnie and her family moved to Iowa in the early 1950’s and she lived in the Wall Lake, Lake View area until her death.
Bonnie spent her life caring for her home and family. She enjoyed living by the lake, playing cards and board games with her friends and family, doing embroidery work and growing flowers and tomatoes every summer. Her grandkids were especially fond of her Cole slaw, gravy and homemade dinner rolls, which she made for holidays. She was known for being a spotless house keeper by everyone.
Bonnie nursed her husband through eight years of ill health until his death in 1990.
Bonnie required a heart valve replacement in October of 2001. She was in ill health after that and unable to return to her own home. Due to failing health, Bonnie entered Black Hawk Life Care Center in Lake View in January of 2006. Due to worsening health, she entered Twilight Acres in November of 2007, where she received excellent care. Her family is grateful for the kindness and comfort the staff offered.
