Max C. Erritt

Max Clair Erritt, age 70, of Omaha, Nebraska, formerly of Sac City, Iowa, passed away on Monday, December 10, 2007 at his home in Omaha.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 15th, at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City with Pastor Vicki Fisher officiating. Burial will be at the Oakland Cemetery under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home. Visitation is from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, December 13th at the funeral home in Sac City.

Max was born on October 6, 1937, in Somers, Iowa, the son of Clair Farnham and Mary Catherine (Fessler) Erritt. He graduated from Sac City High School in 1955 and a Business and Technical School in Omaha, Nebraska.

He began working for the Prudential Insurance Company, Mortgage Loan Department, from the spring of 1956 to 1970. He was inducted into the United States Army in October of 1959 serving until October of 1961, stationed at the Presidio in San Francisco, which was the 6th Army Headquarters. Max began working for Seldin’s in May of 1972 until March 1996, and then began working for a heating and cooling company for Lennox in Omaha in 1998, retiring in January of 2003. He moved to his current address in October 1991.

Max enjoyed having coffee with his friends, exchanging stories, following the NASCAR races and sports events, and visiting the Omaha Zoo. He was a very loving and caring brother, uncle, and friend and will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his sisters, Jean Bunting and husband Keith of Holiday Island, AR, and Paula Weisenborn of Atlantic Beach, FL; his brother Brian Erritt and wife Kristi of Sac City, IA; stepmother Donna Erritt of Red Oak, IA; stepsisters Jane and Sue; his nieces, nephews and extended family members and many friends.

Max was preceded in death by his parents, sister Patricia Stabbe, and nephew Chad Weisenborn.
