Luanne Gustafson Page Luanne
Gustafson Page was born March 4, 1928, in Sac City, Iowa, the only
child of John and Ruth (Warner) Gustafson. She was baptized on June
9, 1929, at the United Methodist Church in Sac City and confirmed
there on June 9, 1940.Luanne went to elementary and high school at Sac Community Schools, graduating in 1946. She completed her teaching certificate at the Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls and returned to Sac City, where she taught country school southwest of town for two years. Luanne was united in marriage to Robert Page on April 15, 1951, in Sac City, Iowa. They were the parents of two children, Teresa and Jon. Luanne and Bob farmed together for many years and she loved helping with fieldwork. Having grown up in town, she loved country life and being outdoors. They were the owners of Indian Lanes in Sac City for seventeen years where she enjoyed bowling and chatting with customers before retiring in 2003. Luanne was a member of the United Methodist Women, was active in Camp Fire Girls as a leader and board member, and was active as a volunteer for several community committees. She thoroughly enjoyed being with her grandchildren and welcomed her great-granddaughter’s birth in August. Holidays were a special time, she enjoyed sprucing up the farm with flowers and mowing the lawn, going to the lake for the weekend to camp, playing cards, going out to eat with friends, and traveling, especially on the motorcycle with Bob. Luanne was 79 when she passed away at Park View Care Center in Sac City on April 1, 2007, following a brief illness. She is survived by her husband Robert, her daughter Teresa Mahler, son Jon and his wife Denise Page, grandchildren Brian and his wife Jackie Mahler, Nicole, Natalie, and Jacob Page, and her great-granddaughter, Cora Mahler, all of Sac City, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at the United Methodist Church in Sac City with Pastor Vicki Fisher officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home. Visitation is from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, April 02, 2007 at the funeral home in Sac City where the family will be present. |
