Jeannine M. Holm

Jeannine M. Holm, age 78, of Sac City, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2007, at Park View Care Center in Sac City.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, May 2nd, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sac City with Father Larry McCarty officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 1st, at the funeral home with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m.

Jeannine was born on January 26, 1929, in Sac City, the daughter of Lester and Mildred (Stephens) Glass. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith in Sac City where she remained a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. In 1946, Jeannine graduated from Sac City High School and in 1950, completed her BS Degree in Mathematics at the University of Iowa in Iowa City.

Jeannine was united in marriage to Howard Holm on July 3, 1950, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sac City. They lived briefly in Le Mars, Iowa and in 1952 moved to their farm four miles west of Sac City. To this union three children were born: Bruce, Brent, and Terese.

Jeannine taught high school math, physics, and chemistry in Holstein for 30 years, retiring at age 62. She loved to play bridge, read books, and travel with Howard.

Survivors include her husband Howard and son Brent Holm both of Sac City; daughter Terese Holm of Omaha, Nebraska; and daughter-in-law Donna Holm of Farnhamville, Iowa. Other survivors include her two grandchildren: Wendy Holm of Farnhamville and Misty Oeche and husband Alberto of Jefferson; two great-grandchildren: Devin and Kristal Morales of Jefferson; two brothers Jack Glass and James Glass and his wife Rita all of Omaha; extended family members; and friends.

Jeannine was preceded in death by her parents Lester and Mildred Glass and son Bruce Holm.
