Joyce E. Dierenfeld

Joyce E. Dierenfeld, age 74, of Sac City, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2007, at Park View Care Center in Sac City following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 19th, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sac City with burial at Oakland Cemetery. Visitation is from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral home in Sac City.

Joyce Doxtader was born February 18, 1933, in Aurelius, Michigan, the daughter of Fred and Ruby Chesley Doxtader. She grew up in Eaton Rapids, Michigan where she attended various schools. In 1950 she moved to Sac City.

On September 14, 1951, Joyce was united in marriage to William E. Dierenfeld in Jackson, Minnesota. They honeymooned at the Clay County Fair. She worked at Nobles Manufacturing for many years as a drill press operator, until they closed. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sac City. Joyce enjoyed flower gardening and raising sweet corn in the summer and selling it. On January 20, 1999, Joyce had a stroke and entered Loring Care Center and recently transferred to Park View Care Center.

Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who dearly loved to spend time with her family. Survivors include her husband, William, Jr.; her five children: Nancy (Pete) Erickson of Storm Lake; Paula Dierenfeld and husband Dave Roederer of Johnston, IA; William Dierenfeld, III, Sandra Dierenfeld, and Brian Dierenfeld all of Sac City; her grandchildren: Cherie Block, Melissa Frazier, Melissa Carver, Angela Doyle Scar, Angela Valadez, Michael Doyle, and Ryan Cook; 15 great-grandchildren; her brothers: Merwin (Jean) Doxtader of Big Rapids, MI, and Morris (Jean) Doxtader of Mission, TX; her sisters: Bobbi Bunker of Eaton Rapids, MI, Darlene (Ted) Bristol of Onondaga, MI, and Martha (Francis) Bogart of Leslie, MI; and many extended family members.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and three sisters.
