Frances Cross Frances
Cross, age 88, of Sac City, Iowa, passed away suddenly on April 29,
2007, at Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 5th, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sac City with Pastor Charles Bettin officiating. Music will be provided by Michele Suggitt and congregational singing. Burial in Cedar Cemetery under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home. Visitation for family and friends will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, May 4th at the funeral home in Sac City. Frances was born February 21, 1919, in Calhoun County, Iowa to Henry G. and Rosa E. (Hunziker) Kreft. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church rural Sac City. Frances attended country grade school and graduated from Lytton Community High School in 1936. On September 14, 1941, she married Leo Cross at St. Paul’s
Lutheran Church in Sac City, Iowa. They farmed east of Sac City
until 1984 when Leo passed away. They had been wintering in Arizona
prior to that. Frances continued to return to Arizona during the
winter months. She enjoyed traveling to Europe, Australia, Central
America, the Caribbean, Mexico, Canada, Hawaii, and throughout the
remainder of the United States. Survivors include her son Richard and his wife Sherry of Prior Lake, Minnesota; two granddaughters: Bailey and Chelsea; a sister Arletta Dalton of Keokuk, Iowa; sister-in-law Katherine Kreft; and many relatives and friends. Frances was preceded in death by her husband Leo, parents Henry and Rosa Kreft, one brother Raymond, parents in law Fred and Darlie Cross, and one grandson Bradley Cross. |
