Edna M. Buse
Edna M. Buse, age 72, of Odebolt, Iowa, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2007, at Odebolt Nursing and Rehab Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 25th, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Lake View with Rev. James Travis officiating. Burial will be at the Wall Lake Cemetery under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 24th at the funeral home in Lake View.
Edna was born on November 20, 1934, on the family farm near Breda, the daughter of Elmer and Lizzie (Schmidt) Mohr. She attended country school and graduated from Auburn High School. Before she was married, Edna worked as a secretary at the Auburn High School. On September 3, 1961, she was united in marriage to Donald D. Buse at Zion Lutheran Church in Auburn. This union was blessed with three children: Doris, Ruth, and Rose.
Edna farmed with her husband near Ulmer until his death in 2001. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved to spend time with her family. Her two grandchildren brought her great joy. Edna loved to spend time crocheting, quilting and reading. She moved into Odebolt in 2005. Edna was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Lake View.
Survivors include her daughters: Doris Remmers and husband Ryan of Melvin, IA, and Ruth Koenen and husband Mark of Kiron, IA; two grandchildren: Luke and Sarah Koenen; three brothers: Hubert Mohr of Ord, NE, Marvin Mohr and wife Ruth of Ord, NE, and Wayne Mohr and wife Ruth of Sac City, IA; her sister, Verna Perry of Dolliver, IA; sister-in-law, Marjorie Mohr of Odebolt, IA; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Darlene and Gerald Ott of Jefferson, IA; extended family members; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Donald; daughter Rose Marie in 1985; brother Wilbert Mohr; and niece Sister Michelle Mohr.
