E. Lynn Minnmann
E. Lynn Minnmann, son of Everett F. Minnmann and Beatrice E. (Peters) Minnmann, was born on October 18, 1948, in Sac City, Iowa. Lynn graduated from Sac City High School in 1967. Lynn was married to Jeri Schwanz from April 20, 1968 to 1990. In 1968, he enlisted in the United States Army and was assigned to basic training in Ft. Lewis, Washington. He then was sent to the Red Stone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. Following a brief stay at Ft. Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma, Lynn was stationed at the base in Neu Ulm, Germany where he was assigned to the Persing Missile Command. He was honorably discharged in April 1971. Lynn completed his Bachelor’s Degree from Buena Vista College in 1977. He made his home Sac City where he and Jeri raised their two daughters, Molli and Keri. Lynn was Assistant Vice President for the Sac City State Bank from 1977 to 1987. He was very civic minded and served as Sac City Mayor from May 6, 1987 to May 31, 1994. Since 1993, Lynn was a salesman for Murphy Tractor in Sioux City, where he also lived. Survivors include his daughters, Molli (Lance) Mandernach of Sac City; Keri (Shane) Hime, of Torrington, Wyoming; three grandchildren, Ally and Brock Mandernach, and Brayden Hime; two brothers, Kim (Diane) Minnmann of Ankeny; Jon (Virginia) Minnmann of Sac City; two sisters Junella (Robert) Wesselink of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Betty (Ed) Heun of Fremont, Nebraska; and numerous family members, friends, and co-workers. Lynn was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, May 11, 2007, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sac City with Pastor David Zirpel officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery under the direction of Farber and Otteman Funeral Home. Visitation is from 5:00PM to 8:00PM, Thursday, May 10, 2007, at the funeral home in Sac City. |
