Evelyn Korner

Evelyn Ione Korner, 79, passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2007, at St. Rose Dominican Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born January 3, 1928 in Gowrie, Iowa, the daughter of Emory and Elda (Clark) Lingren. Evelyn was united in marriage to William Korner on January 5, 1949. A long time resident of Odebolt, Iowa, she later resided in Denison and Lake View before moving to Las Vegas several years ago. Evelyn was in the food service industry most of her life. She was a cook at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Odebolt and at Job Corps in Denison. She and her late husband, William, also owned a bar and restaurant in Kiron.

She is survived by three sisters: Jean (Mark) Rossow of Jefferson, IA, Geri Irwin of Iowa City, IA, and Wavey Baeth of California; three brothers: Red Lingren of Schleswig, IA, Don (Elaine) Lingren of Des Moines, IA, and Denny (Pat) Lingren of Denison, IA; three daughters: Cindy McWhirt of Omaha, NE, Becky Ellinger of Fort Collins, CO, and Vicki (Charles) Spoonhour of Las Vegas, NV; four grandchildren: Missy Bluml, Jason (Joni) Bluml, Tiffany Ellinger and Tate Ellinger; four great-grandchildren: Taylor, Temara and Tarek Ellinger and Rylan Bluml; and by her beloved Shihtzu, Radar.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband William in 1983; brother Merlyn Lingren, and sister Leora Lindquist.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, October 24th, at Morgan Township Cemetery in Schleswig, Iowa, with Pastor Merle Mahnken officiating.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 23rd at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Lake View.
