Everett W. Buse

Funeral services for Everett Buse will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 22nd, at Zion Lutheran Church in Auburn with Reverend Erland Asmus officiating.  Burial will be at the Wall Lake Cemetery under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, September 21st, at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Wall Lake.

Everett William Buse was born September 19, 1929, on the family farm near Ulmer, Iowa, the son of William and Reka (Voss) Buse.  He was baptized January 23, 1930, and confirmed May 28, 1944, at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ulmer.  He attended rural school through the eighth grade and then helped on the family farm.

Everett was united in marriage to Eleanor Freese on August 20, 1950.  He then was inducted into the United States Army and served in the Korean Conflict.  He was a member of Wall Lake American Legion Chalon Post #262.

He enjoyed visiting and playing cards with his many relatives.  He also enjoyed his friendships at the Ulmer Farmers Coop Elevator.  He was known for his witty sense of humor and ready smile.  His love of farming and living in the country was his greatest joy.  He retired in 2005 after 52 years of farming.

He was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Auburn where he served as an elder and trustee.

Everett, age 78, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2007, at Black Hawk Life Care Center in Lake View, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife, Eleanor of Lake View; children: Sheryl Huisenga and husband Jeff of Lake View; Randy Buse and wife Marilee of Lake View; Becky Green and husband Dennis of Lake City; and Darryl Buse and wife Barb of Chetek, Wisconsin; nine grandchildren: Jason Huisenga, Dan (Renee) Huisenga, Stacy (Jim) Lally, Gina Buse, Shelli, Kristi and Brian Green, Zachary and Trevor Buse; three great-grandchildren: MaKenna, Ayden, and Layne Huisenga; a sister, Mildred (Eldred) Lietz; and brother, Kenneth (Janice) Buse.  Other survivors include: brother-in-law, Raymond (LaVon) Freese; sisters-in-law: Dot (Sid) Nelson, Betty Wessman and Gary Blessington, Marjean (Michael) Riedell; and many extended family members.

Everett was preceded in death by his parents.
