Bernice A. Baker
Bernice moved to Scottsdale in the mid 1950s when the population was about 7,000 people. She purchased property on 5th Avenue when it was still a gravel road and opened “Clara’s”, a beauty salon. Bernice was a longtime member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and the Elks Club. She was preceded in death her parents; two husbands: George Thorndike in 1968 and Harold Baker in 1997; brothers and sisters, Harold and Arnold Kelly, Irene Malloy, Elsie Lawler, and Mary Downey. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. |
