Arlene Lucille Morrison was born July 9, 1937, to Russell J. and Genevieve E. (Pattee) Morrison at Newell, Iowa.  She attended school in Storm Lake and Alta, Iowa, graduating from Alta in 1955.  She attended Fort Dodge Beauty Academy and graduated and took her state boards to become a licensed Beautician in 1956.

Arlene was married to Richard Mendenhall at Alta in 1956 and to this union was born two children, Julie Mendenhall Determan and Jeff Mendenhall.

Arlene had her own Beauty Shop for 30 years in Sac City and worked for Wanda Coppens for two years.

In 1984 Arlene was married to Donavon Rehm and they moved to Lake View.  Arlene gained four stepchildren: Mari Rehm Kemis, Mike Rehm, Jeannie Rehm Artley, and Bill Rehm.

She loved fixing hair and hated it when she had to give up her license because of cancer.  Arlene loved to ride her bike and you always knew it was her because of her pink helmet.  She did many bike rides, even though she said she would never be a Lance Armstrong.  She worked for Relay For Life for many years, making many dollars for the Relay with quilt raffles.  Quilts were also one of her loves.  She liked playing cards, social times with friends, and family.  She always felt she had a lot of special friends and family.  Arlene belonged to the Lake View Garden Club, a card club, and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wall Lake.

She is survived by her husband Don Rehm; daughter Julie Determan and husband Clete of Auburn, Iowa; son Jeff Mendenhall and fiancé Cetha Henrich of Storm Lake, Iowa; four stepchildren: Mari Rehm Kemis and husband Jim of Ames, Iowa, Mike Rehm and wife Kim of West Des Moines, Iowa, Jeannie Rehm Artley and husband George of Watertown, Minnesota, and Bill Rehm and wife Kim of Lakeville, Minnesota; seven grandchildren: Aaron Mendenhall, Jason and Anna Kemis, Derek and Samantha Rehm, Jack Artley, and Rebecca Rehm; two great-grandchildren: Ayden and Adelynn; extended family members; and a host of friends.
