Rollin Olerich
Rollin was born on August 12, 1940 at Breda, Iowa, the son of Lawrence and Gertrude (Balk) Olerich. He graduated from Saint Bernard's High School in 1958. Rollin and Mary Olerich were married on September 2, 1961, at Saint Peter and Paul Church in Carroll where they made their home. The couple moved to Lake View in 1999. They were members of Saint Joseph Parish in Wall Lake. Rollin was employed by Drees Heating & Plumbing in Carroll until the time of death. He was a conservationist of nature, an avid fisherman, and a life-long contributor and member of the Sierra Nevada Club. Survivors are his two daughters: Rebecca Olerich of New York, New York, and Michelle Anderson and her husband, Michael, of Leeds, Massachusetts; a grandson, Mitchell Anderson; two sisters: Jean Jons (husband Larry) of Westside and Phyllis Wiese (husband Darrel) of Manning. Mr. Olerich was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary (Landon) Olerich on July 8, 2006; and brothers and sisters, Rita Jean, Clayton, Thomas, Willis, Mary, Eileen and Susie. Mass of the Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 17, at St. Joseph Church in Wall Lake with Rev. John McGuirk presiding. Lector will be Betty Jean Olerich. Gift bearers will be Mitchell Anderson, Ron Olerich, and Nancy Anderson. Casket bearers will be: Mike Heue, Randy Landon, David Heue, Dean Anderson, Robert (Butch) Korwes and Tom Landon. Burial will be at the Wall Lake Cemetery under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 16th, at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Lake View with a Rosary service at 7:00 p.m. and Vigil service at 7:30 p.m. |
