Mary Elizabeth Banks, age 58, of Arnolds Park, Iowa, formerly of Schaller, Iowa passed away on Friday, August 18, 2006, at Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Mary was born on August 30, 1947, in Storm Lake, Iowa, the daughter of Gerald and Ruthetta M. (Kohlieber) Adams. She grew up in Schaller and graduated from Schaller High School in 1966.

On September 10, 1966 Mary was united in marriage to Gerry Lee Banks in Storm Lake. To this union three daughters and two sons were born: Kari, Leigh, Charlene, Shawn, and Gerry, Jr. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She worked outside the home as a health care provider.

Survivors include her children: Kari A. Neely of Las Vegas, NV, Leigh A. Savoy and husband Frank of Denver, CO, and Charlene M. Kish and husband Brian of Florissant, CO, Shawn M. Banks of Colorado Springs, CO, and Gerry L. Banks, Jr. of Colorado Springs, CO; eight grandchildren; two sisters: Geraldine Fineran and husband Roger of Odebolt, IA, and Rosalie Rodewald of Newton, IA; and her companion, Mike Banks along with many extended family members and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband Gerry Banks; and two nieces: Janet Kotz and Lori (Fineran) Hagerty.

Memorial services will be held at a later date in Colorado. Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City is in charge of local arrangements.
