Jann Meyer

Jann Marie Meyer, age 49, of Auburn, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2006, at her home in Auburn. She was born on January 12, 1957, at Loring Hospital in Sac City, the daughter of Darrel Obman and the late Norma Obman (Frisbie). She was baptized at Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake and confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran in Lake View. On May 29, 1976, Jann was united in marriage to Craig Meyer.

Jann grew up on a farm south of Lake View and graduated from Lake View-Auburn High School in 1975. She then went on to DMACC for nursing. In 1976, Jann and Craig moved to a farm north of Auburn where she enjoyed gardening and riding her horse, Sparky. Jann was a very good artist and loved to paint. She painted many beautiful pictures that her family will treasure. She also enjoyed camping, horseback riding, crocheting, and spending time with her grandsons whom she loved dearly. Jann worked as an L.P.N. for Shady Oaks and Opportunity Living in Lake City and at New Hope Village in Carroll.
Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Craig Meyer; three daughters: Jenny Brockman and her husband Ryan, Katie Meyer and her friend Josh Zimmerman, and Corie Meyer and her friend Brandon Nattress; two grandsons: Keagen Meyer and Chase Brockman. Other survivors include her father, Darrell Obman and two sisters: Londa Law and Robin Westergaard and her husband John; her parents-in-law Dick and Lois Meyer; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, November 10th, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Lake View with Pastor James Travis officiating. Farber & Otteman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 9th, at Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Lake View.
