Ilene Zollman

Ilene Wilma Zollman, age 88, of Sac City, Iowa, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2006, at Park View Care Center in Sac City, surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 14th, at Faith Bible Church in Sac City with Pastor Brian Krause officiating. Burial will be at the Oakland Cemetery in Sac City with Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 13th, at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City.

Ilene was born on July 19, 1917, in Buena Vista County, the daughter of Morris and Inez (Putnam) Stevens. She lived with her parents in Buena Vista and Sac Counties as she was growing up. Ilene attended country schools in Sac County and Sac City High School through her junior year.

On April 29, 1937, Ilene was united in marriage to Hubert Zollman at the Free Methodist Church in Sac City. This union was blessed with two children: Melvin and Naoma.

Ilene was a devoted wife and mother who always put her family first. She loved to follow her kids activities in school and was so proud of her grand kids, great grand kids, and great-great grand kids. Ilene enjoyed crocheting, knitting, embroidering, and word search.

She was baptized in the Racoon River in Sac City in 1931 and was a member of Faith Bible Church in Sac City.

Survivors include her son: Melvin Zollman and his wife Alta of Quimby, IA; her daughter Naoma Witzke and husband Merlyn of Robesonia, PA; eight grandchildren: Vicki Cooper, William Zollman, Scott Zollman, Amy Amick, Sue Todd, Deborah Korver, Dawn Cheng, and Wendy Maupin; 17 great-grandchildren: Tara Paulson, Megan Zollman, Miles Zollman, Coy Zollman, Jamie Klachen, Lakin Zollman, Regan Zollman, Nathan Zollman, Earnest Harden, Lee Harden, Molly Todd, Britney Todd, Dustin Todd, Paige Korver, Alex Korver, Christopher Cheng, and Jessica Cheng; four great great-grandchildren: Tyler Paulson, Gracie Paulson, Kayla Gravenish, and Skylar Harden. She is also survived by her sisters Ruth Stevens and Helen Weltzheimer of Sac City and many extended family members.

Ilene was preceded in death by her parents; husband Hubert Zollman on April 24, 1983; two brothers: Harold Stevens and Robert Stevens; and two sisters: Wuanita Stevens and Elva Schertz.
