Irene M. Carr, age 94, of Lake View, Iowa, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2006, at Twilight Acres Nursing Home in Wall Lake.

Private graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, July 15, 2006, at Climbing Hill Cemetery in Climbing Hill, Iowa, with Pastor Howard Reed and Pastor Ken McMillen officiating. Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Lake View is in charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation.

Irene M. Seymour Carr, daughter of Henry James and Matilda (Schroeder) Seymour, was born on September 26, 1911, at Ute, Iowa.

She attended rural schools in Woodbury County, Iowa and graduated from high school in 1928 at Lawton, Iowa. She attended Morningside College (two years) and taught school from 1930-1941 in Woodbury and Plymouth Counties.

In June of 1941, she moved to Springfield, Massachusetts. In 1946 she moved to Pittsfield, Massachusetts, where she resided until December of 1977. At that time she moved to Lake View, Iowa. She was a member of Wall Lake Baptist Church in Wall Lake, Iowa.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: William, Stewart, Byron, and Wesley Seymour; and one sister, Lura Francis.

Her sister-in-law, Phyllis Seymour, and her nieces and nephews survive her.
