Evelyn was born on July 22, 1922, at Rockwell City, Iowa, the daughter of Ralph and Ethel (Allard) Fisher. She attended Rockwell City Grade School and High School graduating in 1940. On November 22, 1941, Evelyn was united in marriage to Harry “Swede” Nordin in Buffalo, New York. They made their home in Lytton where they raised their three daughters: Patricia, Peggy, and Tamara.

As a member of the Presbyterian Church in Lytton, Evelyn taught Sunday school, sang in choir, and received the Women’s Honorary Membership. She was active in the community as a council and chamber member; member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Music Club; helped with UNICEF for many years; and the bunny raffle for the Easter Egg hunt.

Evelyn worked for AMPI for 17 years, was secretary for William’s Milling for seven years; and editor for the Lytton Town Crier for ten years, where she wrote so lovingly of her daughter’s and grandchildren’s visits. Over the years Evelyn found great joy in raising her family and taking care of their needs. Evelyn’s special memories would include every moment spent with her family and friends. Her family brought her so much happiness and she was so very proud of each of them. She always had the latest pictures and stories to relate about their happenings.

Those left to cherish her memory are her three daughters: Pat (Steve) Hinz of Paullina, Iowa, Peggy Nordin of Lytton, Iowa, and Tammy (Scott) Ramlo of Austin, Minnesota; seven grandchildren: Steve (Sandy) Baskerville of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Tim Baskerville of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Gina (Tracy) Johnson of Osceola, Iowa, Chris (Tracey) Nordin of Omaha, Nebraska, Amy (Jeff) DeJong of Brandon, South Dakota, and Alyssa Ramlo and Daniel Ramlo both of Austin, Minnesota; ten great-grandchildren: Ashley and Zach Johnson, Spenser, Stephanie, Samuel, and Sawyer Baskerville, Trey, Brady, and Payton DeJong, and Cole Nordin. She is also survived by her brother Robert Fisher of Veteran’s Home in Marshalltown, Iowa; sister Marilla (Don) Brownlee of Rockwell City, Iowa; many extended family members; and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Harry Nordin; and brother Ralph Fisher, Jr.
