Darlene J. Albinger
Memorial services will be held on Friday, September 8th, 10:30 a.m., at Emanuel-St. John Lutheran Church in Lytton with Rev. Wayne Pfannkuch officiating. Burial will be at St. John Lutheran Cemetery under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home. Visitation is from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 7th at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City. Darlene was born on November 5, 1925 in Knoke, Iowa the daughter of Alden and Hulda (Becker) Carlson. She was baptized, January 10, 1926, and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and graduated from Fonda High School. On July 21, 1944, Darlene was united in marriage to Gail Albinger in Omaha, Nebraska. They made their home on the family farm west of Lytton. Darlene worked as a legal secretary for the Vest Law Firm in Sac City for many years. She was a member of Emanuel-St. John Lutheran Church in Lytton and enjoyed singing in the choir along with Gail. After Gail’s retirement they spent many winters in Arizona. She moved to Sunny View Retirement Center in Rockwell City, living there for three years, before moving to Pomeroy Care Center in January of 2006. She will be remembered as a very loving and gentle mother and grandmother who cherished her family and loved spending time with them. She is survived by her son James Albinger and his wife Jean of Fort Myers Beach, Florida; grandson Andrew Albinger and wife Jennifer of Marion, Iowa along with their sons Conor and Cael; granddaughter Ann Albinger of Ft. Myers, Florida; and two nephews: Wade and Tony Carlson. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband Gail on January 26, 2001; infant twin daughters; and brother, Daryl Carlson. |
