Alexis was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake. She was presently a senior at Wall Lake View Auburn High School.

Alexis (or better known as “sweet pea” and “short”) worked part-time as a waitress at Kathy’s Corner and Lighthouse in Lake View while attending high school. She enjoyed playing volleyball and attending all the activities at school. Alexis loved to go visit her brother and sisters; spend time with her girl friends; or just cuddle up on the couch and watch a movie. Her plans were to attend Kirkwood College in Cedar Rapids and become a Real Estate Agent, make lots of money, and support her family.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her mother, Michele Warnemunde and her friend Joe Henkelman of Wall Lake; her father, Robert Warnemunde and his wife Kristie of Carroll, Iowa; her sisters: Angela Poen and husband Mike of Frisco, Texas, and April Warnemunde of Overland Park, Kansas; her brother, Adam Warnemunde of Ames, Iowa; step-sisters, Tisha and Tanna; step-brother, Tage; extended family members; and many friends.

Alexis was preceded in death by her grandparents: Marvin and Ethel Warnemunde and Maxine Burlingham.
