Sylvia Vivian Tebben, age 92, of Sac City, Iowa, passed away on October 24, 2005, at Park View Care Center in Sac City after a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Oct. 28th, 10:30 a.m., at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City.

Visitation will be on Thursday, Oct. 27th, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Sac City.

Sylvia was born on January 4, 1913, in Paris, Illinois, the daughter of Minnie (Sturegon) and Richard Hawkins. She moved to Iowa with her family at the age of four years.

She was united in marriage to Bernard Higgins on March 29, 1930. Two sons were born to this union: Robert and Harold. They farmed and raised their family north of Sac City. They were divorced in 1954 and Sylvia moved to Sac City.

On May 20, 1961, Sylvia was married to Henry Tebben. He passed away in May of 1974. She worked at the Sac City State Bank for a short time, at Ammer Hardware for 13 years, and Coast to Coast for 14 1/2 years. She retired from Coast to Coast in 1989. She enjoyed travel, her friends, and most of all, her family.

Survivors include her two sons: Robert and wife Shirley, and Harold and wife Karen all of Sac City; six grandchildren: Sandy (John) Courter, Julie (Dan) Bell, Susan Blum, Hal Higgins, Chris (Diane) Higgins, and Leann (Jeff) Morris; 14 great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and many extended family members.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Goldie McCrea and Clovia Vauble; brothers: Floyd, Dean, and Charles Hawkins; grandson Richard Higgins; and great-grandson Brandon Blum.
