Raymond C. Wade
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Thurday, December 15th, at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Wall Lake. Raymond Charles Wade, age 74, of Wall Lake, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2005 at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Raymond was born on September 24, 1931 in Sac County, which is now the Wade century farm near Wall Lake, the son of Ralph R. and Iola J. (Paul) Wade. He was baptized and confirmed in the Methodist church and was a life-time member of the United Methodist Church of Lake View. Raymond graduated from Wall Lake High School in 1951. Following graduation he was inducted into the U.S. Air Force on January 2, 1952 serving during the Korean Conflict. Due to the death of his father, he was discharged on April 20, 1953 earning the rank of Airman 2nd Class. Raymond farmed until 1958 and then worked for Griffin Construction in Lake View, for Snap-on Tools in Algona, Farmland in Denison, and retired in 1986 from the Maintenance Department for Sac County Secondary Road Department. After retirement he lived in Lake View and helped with maintenance at Black Hawk Life Care Center while it was under construction. Since August 30, 1998 Raymond resided at Twilight Acres Nursing Home and was lovingly referred to as their “official greeter.” Raymond’s family meant everything to him. He is survived by his brother Robert Wade and his wife Marilyn of Cedar Falls, IA; sister Carol Nuetzman and her husband Jack of Wall Lake, IA; along with his ten nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, special friend Ruth Haley, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Iola Wade. No one was a stranger to Raymond. |
