Robert I. Turner

Graveside service for Robert Turner, 81, of Lincoln, Nebraska, and formerly of Odebolt is 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 26th, at the Odebolt Cemetery with a time of fellowship to follow at the Odebolt Presbyterian Church. The Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Odebolt is in charge of arrangements. There is no visitation.

Robert I. Turner, age 81, of Lincoln Nebraska, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2005, at Haven Manor, in Lincoln. Robert was born July 17, 1924, in Odebolt, Iowa, the son of Irving George and Mary Irene (Roberts) Turner. He grew up in Odebolt and graduated from Odebolt High School. He continued his education at Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa, and graduated with a Master’s of Science Degree. He worked as a Soil Scientist for the US Department of Agriculture for 41 years.

He was united in marriage to Margie Teaquist on December 18, 1949, at the Presbyterian Church in Odebolt. They were blessed with four sons: George, Richard, David and Charles.

Robert was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lincoln and also a member of the Masonic Lodge-Iowa, and Hiram Club.

Survivors include his wife, Margie; sons: Richard R. and wife Deanna Turner of Lincoln, NE, David R. and wife Denis Turner of Middlebury, IN, Charles R. and wife Cathy of Lincoln, NE; sisters-in-law: Ardella Boldt of San Diego, CA, and Jane Ashby of Albuquerque, NM; granddaughter, Amber (Turner) and husband Bradley Wilber; grandchildren: Philip Turner and Leslie Turner; seven nieces; and extended family members.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, brother James H. Turner, and son George R. Turner.
