Richard L. Raine

Memorial services for Richard L. Raine will be held Sunday, September 4, 2005, 1:30 p.m. at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Lake View.  Burial will be at the Wall Lake Cemetery.  The Farber & Otteman Funeral home in Lake View is in charge of arrangements.  There will be no visitation.

Richard L. Raine, 79, of Lake View, Iowa, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2005, at Twilight Acres Nursing Home in Wall Lake.

The son of John N. and Grace (Firth) Raine, Richard was born on October 16, 1925 in Harvey, North Dakota.  The family moved to Sac City in the mid to late 30’s where Richard graduated from Sac City High School in 1945.  He was united in marriage to Janet Michael in November 1962.  To this union was born three children: Lawrence John, Kari E., and Dean G.

Richard was a well-known electrician for over 55 years in Lake View.  He enjoyed photography, fishing and hunting and won many medals and awards for his marksmanship.  He had a love of steam engines and railroad trains. 

Survivors include his children: Lawrence Raine of Urbana, IA, Dean Raine and his wife Michelle of Lake View, and Kari Kilstrom and her husband Scott of Marshalltown, IA; his brother Rex Raine and his wife Marilyn of Fort Dodge, IA; extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Charles Raine; and sister Norma Raine.
