Rebecca Presley

Funeral services for Rebecca Presley will be on Wednesday, August 17th, 10:00 a.m., at Lakes United Methodist Church in Lake View with Rev. Rick Johnson officiating.  Burial will be at the Ferguson Cemetery in Lake View with the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 4:00-8:00 pm, Tuesday, August 16th at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Lake View.

Rebecca Ann Presley, 58, of Auburn, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2005, at Mercy Medical Center, Des Moines, Iowa.

Rebecca was born on July 26, 1947, in Sac City, the daughter of Kenneth Laverne and Beryl Jeanette (Kirkendall) Long.  She lived on the farm northwest of Lake View and graduated from Lake View/Auburn High School in 1965.  She continued her education with nurses aide training at Stewart Memorial Hospital in Lake City.

In May of 1965, Rebecca was united in marriage to Warren Dean Presley.  To this union four children were born: Gerald, Brett, Clint, and Deann.

Rebecca was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.  She had a loving and caring heart that shined in her desire to help all the children in Auburn.  She worked as a home health aide and did custom house cleaning and in her leisure time enjoyed fishing, quilting, and raising flowers.

Left to treasure her memory is her mother, Beryl Long of Lake View; her children: Gerald and wife Fae Presley of Lytton, IA, Brett Presley of Hudson, IA,  Clint Presley of Auburn, and Deann and husband Matt Ortner of Auburn.  Other survivors include seven grandchildren: Kelli, Melinda, and Alicia Presley, Christine and Nicholas Presley,  Mekysha Sander, and Garret Ortner; her brother Steven Long of Humboldt, IA, four sisters: Janet Dowling of Gainesville, FL, Janice and husband Bob Huisenga of Sioux City, IA, Vicki and husband Joe Neppl of Wall Lake, IA, and Kara and husband Jedd Sherman of Walnut, IA; and many extended family members and friends.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Long, brother Andrew Long; and her grandparents.
