Graveside service for Ruth Evans will be held Monday, November 28th, 2:00 p.m., at Oakland Cemetery in Sac City, Iowa, with Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  There will be no visitation.

Ruth Ann Evans, age 79, of Sunland Village, Mesa, Arizona, formerly of Sac City, passed away on November 19, 2005, in Mesa, AZ.  Ruth Ann Dreeszen was born on January 22, 1926, in Sac City, the daughter of Elmer and Hattie (Zimmerman) Dreeszen.  She grew up on a farm near Sac City and graduated from Sac City High School.  She got a Nursing Degree from Iowa Methodist Hospital in 1947.  Her last active duty was head Operating Room Nurse at the University of Iowa Hospital.

In 1960, she married Dr. William I. Evans, and they moved to Sunland Village in the early 80’s.  They were avid golfers and a member of the board of Sunland Village Gold Club, Inc.

Ruth is survived by two stepdaughters: Ruth Evans Armentrout from Simi Valley, CA, and Mary Evans from Washington, D.C.; three step-grandchildren; and sister-in-law Tillie Dreeszen of Sac City.

      She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Dale Dreeszen, and sister Lois Baichtal.
