Maxine Huisenga
Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00-8:00 pm on Sunday, August 28th, at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Lake View. Maxine L. Huisenga, 85, of Lake View, Iowa passed away on Friday, August 26, 2005, at the Loring Hospital in Sac City. Maxine was born January 9, 1920, in Sac City, Iowa, the daughter of Lloyd and Hilma (Gustafson) Martz. She attended school in Sac City and graduated from Sac City High School in 1938. On August 25, 1940, Maxine was united in marriage to Marvin Huisenga at the United Methodist Church in Sac City. They made their home on a farm East of Lake View until retiring from farming and moving into Lake View. Marvin passed away on August 20, 1994. Maxine was a member of Lakes United Methodist Church in Lake View, where she was active in United Methodist Women and served on the memorial committee. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge, and was a past District Deputy President. She liked BINGO and playing cards but “Bridge” was her favorite. She was an active member of many card clubs. Maxine is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Janice of Sioux City, IA; two grandchildren: Cheri Cork and husband Klint of Galva, IA and Bruce Huisenga and wife Stacy of Sioux Falls, SD; and seven great grandchildren: Megan and Michael Bawdon, Justine and Dylan Cork, and Ashley, Ericka, and Nicole Huisenga. Preceding Maxine in death were her parents, husband, and brother, Duane Martz. |
