Joseph Montag A memorial mass will be held for Joseph Montag on Saturday, December 3, 2005 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sac City with Father Larry McCarty officiating. Burial will be at the Oakland Cemetery under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home. There will be no visitation. Joseph Montag, age 78, of Sac City, Iowa, passed away on Thursday November 24, 2005 at Loring Hospital in Sac City. Joe was born on January 4, 1927 in West Bend, Iowa, the son of Edward V. and Alice G. (Fogerty) Montag. His parents moved from West Bend to Sac City in 1929. He was baptized and confirmed in the Roman Catholic faith and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sac City. He graduated from Sac City High School in 1945. Joe was a well-known antique dealer and could be found at many local auctions. His antiques are on display at the Oak Door in Sac City. Survivors include his two sisters and six brothers: Jean Walker of Sac City, John Montag and wife Anne of Sac City, Philip Montag and wife Carol of Chicago IL, Pat Montag of Pasadena TX, Paul Montag and wife Delores of Columbus NE, Mary Montag of Lake View IA, David Montag and wife Pat of David City NE, and Tom Montag of Portland OR. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert Montag, brother-in-law John Walker, and sister-in-law Sara Montag. |
