Jane Leonard

Jane Elizabeth Leonard, age 92, of Odebolt, Iowa passed away peacefully among her family on Wednesday, November 9, 2005, at her daughter’s home in New Palestine, Indiana.

Jane attended country school and graduated from the Odebolt High School. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Odebolt, serving as a Deacon, participating in Presbyterian Women, the Rebekah’s, and a 50 year member of the Eastern Star.

Jane was united in marriage to Howard Leonard on November 15, 1934, at the Presbyterian Manse in Storm Lake, Iowa. To this union one child was born, Jane Lenore.

Jane’s greatest joys were her husband, family, and friends. Like her husband before her, she is remembered for her undivided devotion to the farm that fed her family and so many others of this nation.

Jane is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Michael Ferin of New Palestine, Indiana; three grandchildren, Mark Ferin and Amy Snelling of Tecumseh, Michigan, and Michelle Hoffmann of Bloomington, Indiana and eight great grandchildren, Lauren and Tyler Ferin, Rachel, Sarah and Sophia Hoffman, and Elizabeth, Emma and Ava Snelling. Her parents and husband Howard preceded her in death.

As the breeze flows across the fields, we will always feel her presence in our hearts. She was loved for her kind, patient heart, vivacious spirit, unwavering positive attitude, and endless strength.
