Helena Boeckman
As a young girl the family moved to a farm west of Carnarvon where she went to grade school at Viola #5 through the eighth grade. She continued her education by attending high school in Lake View, graduating in 1927. On January 8, 1929, Helena was united in marriage to Tony Boeckman at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wall Lake.. The couple resided in Breda for one year and then moved to the family farm west of Carnarvon in 1930. In 1963 they moved into her present house in Wall Lake where Helena passed away on September 27, 2005, at the age of 96 years. She is survived by her sons, Morris (Mary Sue), Ray (Ruth), and Paul (Cheri), all of Wall Lake: Gene (Pat) of Lake View: Gabe (Jean) of Nebraska and daughters, Ione (Jim) Schreck of Sioux City, Aggie (Wilbur) Wiederin of Lake City, Marie (Merlin) Loew of Maple River, Veronica (Norman) Hansen of Atlantic, and Pat (Louie) Havermann of Carroll. Other survivors include, her 42 grandchildren, 96 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. Helena was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tony, in 1963; one daughter Donna Mae and two sons Mike and Joseph. She was also preceded in death by her. grandchildren: Jay Boeckman and Gerard Hansen great grandchildren: Matthew Loew, Keagan and Keaton Gute and her three sisters: Julia Ziegman, Irene Ratigan and Beatrice Ogren; and two brothers: Louie and Albert Yohnke. |
