Eunice E. McAhren

Funeral services for Eunice McAhren will be held on Friday, May 20th, 10:30 a.m., at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sac City with Rev. Charles Bettin officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Sac City under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home.

Visitation is on Thursday, May 19th, 5:00-8:00 pm at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City.

Eunice E. McAhren, age 87, of Sac City, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2005, at the Loring Hospital in Sac City. Eunice was born on July 16,1917, the daughter of Paul and Elsa (Bielow) Rix, on a farm near Charter Oak. She attended country school and the Lutheran School in Hanover Township.

Eunice did housework for farm wives prior to her marriage on December 16, 1945, to Donald C. McAhren in Lake View, Iowa. They lived in Lake View and the Sac City area after their marriage. Together they raised their three sons: Dennis, Leon, and Bruce.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sac City and loved music. She gave of her blessings and talent and enjoyed singing in the church choir.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her happiest hours were spent traveling with her son Dennis, granddaughter and great-granddaughters. She enjoyed her flowers and crocheting which she shared with family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons: Dennis McAhren of Sac City and Leon McAhren of Waterloo; Iowa; her sister Willene Bahrenfus of Lake View; granddaughter JoAnna McAhren of Lake View; and three great-granddaughters: Toni and Shawnee McAhren and Dani Fellers all of Sac City.

Eunice was preceded in death by her parents; husband Donald on September 2, 1993; son Bruce, daughter-in-law Jan McAhren; and niece Sharon Bahrenfus.
