Duane Mohr

Funeral services for Duane Mohr will be held Tuesday, July 19th, 10:30 a.m., at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Lake View with Rev. James Travis officiating. Burial will be at the Ferguson Cemetery in Lake View under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 4:00-8:00 Monday, July 18th, at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Lake View. Duane Arthur Mohr, age 75, of Lake View, Iowa, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2005, at Black Hawk Life Care Center in Lake View.

Duane Arthur Mohr, age 76, of Lake View, Iowa, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2005, at Black Hawk Life Care Center in Lake View.

Duane was born December 27, 1929, to Myrtle Hallberg and Albert and Minnie Mohr. He married Darlene Schoneboom at St. Paul Lutheran Church on May 28, 1950. To this union was born six children: James, Michael, Linda, Gloria, Robert and Connie.

He was a farmer for many years and then drove truck until he had a stroke in June of 1991, which caused him to retire.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene; and six children and their families: James and Carolyn Mohr of Manson, IA, Michael Mohr of Lake View, Linda Renze of Urbandale, IA, Gloria and John Schulte of Clive, IA, Robert and Joyce Mohr of Lake View, and Connie and Bill Broich of West Des Moines, IA; former daughter-in-law and her daughter Deb Mohr and Amanda Stewart, and twins, Colton and Keira; twelve grandchildren: Tim Mohr, Lisa Birkey, Michael, Andrea, and Andrew Mohr, Sara, Jodi, and Emily Renze, and Anna and fiance Wes Kisting, and Jacob Schulte, Nathan and Beth Mohr; four great-grandchildren: Kayla and Erica Birkey, Kael Renze-Ternes and Derek Seago. He is also survived by his brother Dennis and Carla Hallberg of Palmer, IA; two sisters: Carol and Art Murman of Fort Dodge, IA, and Eunice Thompson and her friend Carman of Arvada, CO; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mairlys and Ed Rehm of Sac City, IA; his aunt Verna Olson of Pocahontas, IA, and several cousins and many friends.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents, Myrtle Hallberg and Albert and Minnie Mohr; a sister Marcille Reetz; and brothers Melvin Mohr and Paul Hallberg.
