Memorial services for Dennis Lee McLaughlin will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2006, at 10:30 a.m., at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Lake View with Reverend James Travis officiating. Internment will follow in the Corey Grove Cemetery in Sac City. Visitation will be an hour prior to the memorial service.

Dennis Lee McLaughlin, age 37, of Lake View passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2005.

Dennis was born March 28, 1968, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Dennis Dean McLaughlin and Annette Lee (Dean) McLaughlin. He was baptized in the First Methodist Church in Fort Worth. He attended elementary school in Fort Worth, Texas; Albuquerque, New Mexico; Anchorage, Alaska; and Carroll, Iowa. He received his secondary education at Lake View/Auburn Community School District in Lake View, and later completed his GED.

Dennis enjoyed listening to hard rock music, doing jigsaw puzzles, lifting weights, fishing, and being outdoors.

He is survived by his father Dennis D. McLaughlin of Lake View, Iowa; his mother Annette Steinfels and her husband Richard of Fort Worth, Texas; his sister Denise Werkmeister and her husband Dennis of Lake View, Iowa; seven nieces and nephews: Melanie Ross and her husband Jeff; Angela Arbegast and her husband Joe; Paul Werkmeister; Shauna McGowan and her husband Andy; Jesse, Dakota, and Sierra Werkmeister, all of Lake View; his maternal grandmother Margaret Dean of Sac City; his aunts and uncles: Ardis and Hank Gadeken of Republican City, NE; Joy and Ted Phillips of Belle Vista, AR; Mona and Robert Kinney of Storm Lake, IA; and Harold R. and Nancy Dean of Boone, IA; and many extended family members.

Dennis was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Lester E. McLaughlin and Henrietta (Fischer) McLaughlin and by his maternal grandfather Harold L. Dean.
