Don C. Bechler
Visitation in from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 6th, at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home Don Charles Bechler was born on January 20, 1953, in Sac City, Iowa the son of Robert Charles and Ione Angeline (Wilson) Bechler. He was baptized and later confirmed in the United Methodist Church in Sac City. Don attended Sac City Community Schools, graduating from Sac City High School in 1971. He went on to continue his education at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge where in 1973 he completed his training in mechanics. While attending college he helped on the family farm and later started farming on his own in 1978. Don lived his entire life on this farm. Don was united in marriage to Kristine Marie Parker on February 23, 1985, at the United Methodist Church in Sac City. His life long interest has always been in farming and agriculture, along with restoring old tractors and working on the family cars. He also enjoyed collecting guns and watching NASCAR racing. Don passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2005, at his family farm home following an apparent heart attack at the age of 52 years. Survivors include his wife, Kris; his parents-in-law, Bob and Margaret Parker of Sac City; two sisters-in-law and their husbands: Tracy and Dwayne Manning from Winthrop, Iowa and Kelly and Chris Murley of Sac City; three nephews and one niece. Other survivors include his step-mother, Gail Bechler of Sac City; three step-sisters: Sheila and Bruce Billick of Paullina, Iowa, Linda and Ted Schulte of Sac City, and Renae Dudley and her special friend Dennis Deischer of Oak Grove, Missouri, along with 6 step-nieces and nephews. Don is also survived by his beloved pets. His parents, Robert and Ione Bechler preceded him in death. |
