Annetta Johnson Funeral Services for Annetta Johnson, 95 of Sac City formerly of Wall Lake will be 10:30 AM Thursday, July 21, 2005 at the Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake, Iowa. Friends may call after 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Wall Lake where the family will be present from 4 to 8. Annetta passed away on Monday, July 18, 2005, at the Loring Hospital in Sac City, Iowa. She was born on April 10, 1910, the daughter of Henry and Jennie (Tebben) Johnson at the family farm home located southwest of Wall Lake, Iowa. Annetta was the middle child with four brothers and four sisters. She grew up on the farm and attended country school through the 8th grade. The family attended Peace Lutheran Church where Annetta was baptized in 1910 and later confirmed in 1926 by Pastor Schwidder. Annetta never married but always cared for her parents and helped on the family farm always busy with the poultry and livestock and raising a large garden. She loved her animals and enjoyed little children. Her other many interests included, reading, sewing and canning the bounty from her garden. Her family also remembers her love of singing hymns and how she loved to reminisce of bygone days on the farm with her brothers and sisters. Annetta cared for her parents into their declining years, as well as taking care of her brother, Jurgen. All this was done without the convenience of indoor plumbing or the assistance of home health aids. Survivors include her nieces: Judy Mau, Janice Raine, Zelda Nie, Jeanne Schade, Joan Johnson, Shirley Johnson, Bonnie Johnson, Jeannette Lee, and Janet Johnson; and her nephews: Raymond Mau, Lawrence Mau, Alvin Mau and Verlynn Johnson; and her sister-in-law Rita Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Jennie Johnson; four brothers: John, Jurgen, Henry and George; four sisters: Johanna Mau, Anna Mau, Jennie Horst and Florence Raine; a nephew Ronald Mau; and niece Viletta Walton. |
