Vivian M. Rudnick

Vivian M. Rudnick, age 92, of Lake View, Iowa, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2004, at Twilight Acres Nursing Home in Wall Lake. Vivian Marion Anderson was born on July 14, 1912, at Peterson, Iowa, the daughter of Walter and Helen (Johnson) Anderson. She was baptized September 12, 1912, and confirmed in 1926 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Peterson, Iowa. Vivian graduated from Brooke High School in 1930.

On September 4, 1937, she was united in marriage to Edwin McCurdy at Aurelia, IA. To this union one daughter, Beverly, was born. Edwin died on September 13, 1940. On June 2, 1945, Vivian was united in marriage to August Rudnick at Quimby, Iowa. August died on February 21, 2003.

She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake since 1957.

After farming and living in the rural Lake View area, August and Vivian moved into Lake View in 1980, where they enjoyed their retirement, moving to Twilight Acres in 2000. Vivian was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed baking and sharing with others, walking, and reading. Corresponding with family and friends gave her special pleasure while she was able to do so.

She is survived by her daughter, Bev and husband Glen Polzien of Wall Lake; two grandsons: Brad of Wall Lake and Greg and fiancé Suzanne Lottridge of Manning; two sisters-in-law: Minnie Boers of Carroll and Bertha French of Boyden; and other relatives and friends.

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands: Edwin McCurdy and August Rudnick; a sister Gwen Van Hooser and a brother Robert Anderson.

Funeral services for Vivian will be held Wednesday, November 10th, 11:00 a.m., at Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake, with Reverend Roger Carlisle officiating. Jan Potthoff will play the keyboard and Carol Nuetzman will play the organ. The flower committee will include: Audrey Lamaak, Elsie Ogren, and Ruth Gerdes. Active pallbearers will be the following: Brad Polzien, Greg Polzien, Mike Peterson, Terry Anderson, Don Mathiesen, and Les Winter. Burial will be at the Wall Lake Cemetery under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 4:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday, with family present from 6:00-8:00, November 9th, at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Wall Lake.
