Ruth Linquist

Ruth Leona Linquist, age 82, of Sac City, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2004, at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Carroll, IA.

Ruth was born on November 17, 1921, in Lytton, Iowa, the daughter of Edwin and Matilda (Kreft) Linquist. She was baptized in 1922 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Coon Valley, and confirmed March 17, 1940, at Emanuel-St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lytton. She grew up on the family farm and attended country schools through the eighth grade.

Ruth lived at home with her parents. She was always the caregiver, taking care of her parents, neighborhood friends, and family. She enjoyed her flowers and the farm life, helping in any way she could.

Survivors include her brother and sister both of Sac City: Lawrence and wife Donita Linquist, and Ann and husband Jim Galbraith; her nephews and nieces and their families: Ricky Linquist and wife Laurel, Rhonda Remillard and husband Loren, Amy Henson and husband Jim, Robert Galbraith and wife Anne, and Mary Gaffney and husband Benny; and her extended family.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Matilda Linquist.

Funeral services for Ruth will be held on Wednesday, July 28th, 1:30 pm, at Emanuel-St. John Lutheran Church in Lytton, with Pastor Wayne Pfannkuch officiating. Pallbearers include the following: Ricky Linquist, Robert Galbraith, Loren Remillard, Benny Gaffney, Jim Henson, and Jason Remillard. Burial will be at the Cedar Cemetery, Sac City, under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home.

Visitation is one hour before the service at Emanuel-St. John Lutheran Church.
