Lowene Dobernecker

Lowene “Lou” M. Dobernecker, age 70, of Carnarvon, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2004, at her home in Carnarvon.

Lowene M. Cron was born September 28, 1933, in Bear Grove Township, Cass County, rural Griswold, Iowa, to William “Bill” A. and Leona M. (Kirchner) Cron. She attended Galion School and graduated from Atlantic High School in 1951. After graduation she spent some time in Seattle, WA. Lou was united in marriage to Lester Dobernecker. They made their home at Carnarvon, Iowa, for many years. She was employed as a waitress.

Lou loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed her vegetable garden, canning, and cooking.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester; a baby, Herbert, in infancy; her father Wm. Cron, and her mother Leona Cron Voiles.

Survivors include her children: Bill (Tara) Talk of South Carolina, Duane Talk of Auburn, IA, Mike (Gina) Talk of Davenport, IA, Robert Talk of Carnarvon, IA, Roger Dobernecker of Carnarvon, and Tracy (Rick) German of Osceola, IA; her stepchildren: John (Barb) Ratcliffe of Des Moines, IA, Lester (Jan) Dobernecker of Texas, Bob (Pam) Dobernecker of Davenport, IA, Gary (Shirley) Dobernecker of Arizona, Diane Gibson of Colorado, and Donald (Kris) Conroy of Churdan, IA; 14 grandchildren; 17 step-grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a brother Lloyd (Gloria) Cron of Griswold, IA, and a sister, Jo (Roger) Steele of Anita, IA; several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Funeral services for Lou are Saturday, May 1st, 1:00 pm, at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Wall Lake with Rev. James Travis officiating and Sue Arnold, organist. Interment will be at the Carnarvon Cemetery.

Visitation is from 4:00 – 8:00 pm Friday, April 30th, at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Wall Lake.
