Kathryn Zimmer
She was married to Louis Venzke, October 14, 1929. He passed away May 5, 1949. Katy was a member of the United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women’s Society, a former member of Eastern Star, and Past Matrons Club. She was also a member of the neighborhood birthday club and card club. She worked at the Early Coop for several years. On June 23, 1953, Katy was married to Claus Zimmer, who passed away October 12, 1982. She is survived by two nieces: Marjorie Johnson and Marvel Stout both of Sac City; two nephews: Donald Dunkin of Odebolt, IA, and Dennis Dunkin of Grundy Center, IA; great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by three step daughters: Mrs. Lucille Howard of Washington state, Mrs. Ethel Dewey of Minnesota, and Mrs. Phyllis Stevens of Texas; a step-son Paul (Reola) Zimmer of California, step-daughter-in-law Nera Zimmer of Early; and many step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, and step-great-great grandchildren, extended family members, and friends. Katy was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands; three sisters: Rose Hausman, Anna Kenyon, and Ida Venzke; her brother Perry Dunkin; three stepsons: Glen and Milton Zimmer, and Ross Eldridge; two stepdaughters: Florence Adolphsen and Louise Rutherford. Funeral service for Katy is Saturday, April 3rd, 10:30 am, at the United Methodist Church in Early with Reverend Karl Schiltz officiating. Amy Wedeking, accompanied by Sally Nellis, will sing “In the Garden and How Great Thou Art”. Betty Ellinger will take care of the flower arrangements. Pallbearers include: Paul Johnson, Randy Johnson, Kevin Johnson, Donald Dunkin, Dennis Dunkin, and Michael Stout. Interment will be at the Wall Lake Cemetery under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home. Visitation is Friday, April 2nd, 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City. |
