Harvey Luckow
Harvey was born January 5, 1920, in Sac County, Iowa near the town of Ulmer, the son of Max and Ella (Busch) Luckow. He was baptized on February 29, 1920, and confirmed in his faith on March 25, 1934 at Zion Lutheran Church in Arcadia, Iowa. He grew up and attended country school. On April 8, 1948, Harvey was united in marriage to Glennetta Mae McCord. Glennetta passed away April 6, 1974. Harvey later married Alma Larm on July 26, 1979, in Maynard, Minnesota. Harvey was a truck driver and construction worker. He had worked for Martin Mauer Construction for over twenty years. Following his marriage to Alma the couple lived in the Ida Grove and Galva areas, later moving to Spencer, Iowa. In 2000 they moved to Rock Rapids. Survivors include his wife, Alma: two sons: Norman McCord and his wife Linda of Pipestone, Minnesota, and Harvey John Luckow of Marshalltown; and his grandson, Brian McCord of Rapid City, South Dakota. Harvey is also survived by his sister, Alma Johnson of Sac City and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Ella Luckow; his first wife, Glennetta; his brother Walter Luckow; his two sisters: Erma Wolf and Ida Golterman; and two brothers and two sisters in infancy. Funeral services for Harvey are Monday, April 26, 2004, at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City with Pastor Wayne Pfannkuch officiating. Special music will be provided by Frank Strain, soloist, and Mary Townsend, organist. Pallbearers include Brian McCord, Arlyn Hillmer, Dennis Johnson, Duane Johnson, and Darrell Johnson. Interment will be at the Early Union Cemetery. Friends who wish to send condolences may do so online. Visitation is 10:00 am until the service. |
