Eileen Klopfenstein
On December 28, 1950, Eileen was united in marriage to Edward L. Klopfenstein. To this union two children were born: Carol and Joe. Eileen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. There are many fond memories of her good cooking, home canning, and helping her friends and neighbors. She enjoyed collecting post cards and had a large collection of bells. In her earlier years she was employed by Sperry and Hutchinson (green stamps) in Lincoln, NE. Eileen was a member of United Methodist Church in Early, IA, U.M.W., District officer of United Methodist Women, a member of TOPS, and the Social Coffee Club. Eileen is survived by her husband, Edward L. Klopfenstein; her daughter Carol A. Gottsch and her husband Jim of Omaha, NE, and her son, Joe Edward Klopfenstein and his wife Jennie of Des Moines, IA; her four grandchildren: Jeff and Amy Jo Klopfenstein and Matthew and Adam Gottsch; her sister, Beverly Hansen of Lincoln, NE; her four brothers: Raymond Irons of Louisiana, and Orville, Jimmie, and LeRoy Irons all of Lincoln, NE; brother and sister-in-law Don and Ruth White of Mt. Pleasant, IA; extended family members and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde E. and Louise Irons; her two brothers: Clyde and Chester Irons; and her two sisters: Alice Daharsh and Louise Hatfield. Services for Eileen are Friday, April 30, 2004, 2:00 p.m., at the United Methodist Church in Early with Reverend Karl Schiltz officiating under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home. Karen Blass, organist, will provide special music along with congregational singing. Betty Ellinger and Jean Blass will take care of the flower arrangements. Honorary pallbearers include Eileen’s four grandchildren: Jeff and Amy Jo Klopfenstein and Matthew and Adam Gottsch. A private family committal at Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, will be at a later date. Friends who wish to send condolences may do so online. Visitation is 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 29th, at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City. |
