Dean Moeller

Dean V. Moeller, age 69, of Sac City, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2004, at the Newell Good Samaritan Center in Newell, Iowa.

Dean was born June 3, 1935, in Sac City, Iowa, the son of Andrew and Helen (Firth) Moeller.

He attended Sac City Schools graduating from Sac City High School with the Class of 1954.

On November 11, 1956, Dean was united in marriage to Sharon Porth in Rockwell City, Iowa. To this union four children were born, Mark, Judy, Jeff, and Gary.

Dean was a truck driver for Noble Manufacturing until their closing and retired from Smithway Trucking in 1997. He lived his entire life in Sac City and raised his family there. He was baptized in the First Baptist Church in Sac City and when not trucking he enjoyed watching football on television.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughter, Judy Heun and her husband Steve of Nemaha; son, Gary Moeller of Sac City; and two grandsons, Joseph Heun of Elk City, Oklahoma and Brian Heun of Nemaha. Other survivors include his brother, Jimmie Joe Moeller and his wife Gayle of Oshkosh, Wisconsin; his sister, Esther Schulte of Storm Lake and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Helen Moeller, his two sons, Mark and Jeff Moeller: grandson Andy Heun, sisters, Betty Coleman and Carol Sargent and brothers, Robert, John, Darrell and George.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 5th, at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Sac City with Reverend Penny Ritter officiating. Frank Pontious will sing “In the Garden” and “Finally Home” accompanied by Phyllis Pontious. Burial will take place at the Oakland Cemetery in Sac City under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home. There will be no visitation.
