Dean Allen

Dean Harlo Allen, age 65, of Sac City, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at his home in Sac City.

Dean was born on July 17, 1939, in Storm Lake, Iowa, the son of Vernon and Louise (Deremo) Allen. He attended school at Sac City and graduated from Sac City High School in 1957.

Dean was united in marriage to Anita M. Warfield, she passed away in 1976. He retired from the Air Force in July of 1978, serving his country for over 20 years. He made his home on an acreage south of the airport in Sac City. Dean enjoyed the country living, going fishing, and having coffee with his coffee buddies.

Survivors include his two sons: Michael Allen and his wife Barbara of California, and Vern L. Allen and his wife Sheila of Pierce, NE; nine grandchildren; his two sisters: Donna Hatcher and her husband John of Humboldt, IA, and Verna Clarey and her husband Larry of Akron, IA; his special friend Joann Godwin; extended family and friends.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Anita in 1976, and an infant son Dean Jr.

Graveside services will be held for Dean on Thursday, July 29th, 11:00 am, at Cory Grove Cemetery, rural Sac City, will military graveside rites by the V.F.W. Post No. 590 and American Legion Cantigny Post No. 195 of Sac City.

Visitation is Wednesday, July 28th, 4:00-7:00 pm, at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City.
