Cynthia K. Tjaden

Cynthia K. Tjaden, age 55, of Lake View, Iowa, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2004, at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Cynthia was born on July 23, 1949, at Carroll, Iowa, the daughter of Merlin and Lorna (Wiese) Tjaden. She attended Lake View/Auburn Schools and was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Lake View.

She was a familiar face in Lake View, as she worked as a cook and waitress at the Tjaden Cafe, Anchor Inn, and East End, retiring in August 2002. She enjoyed collecting Precious Moments, antiques, doing crossword puzzles, working jigsaw puzzles, crocheting, and reading. She loved to be with children and watch them laugh and play.

Survivors include her father, Merlin Tjaden of Lake View; her brother, Lindell Tjaden also of Lake View; her aunts, uncles, cousin’s, and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lorna, January 3, 1997.

Funeral services for Cynthia will be held Saturday, September 4th, 10:30 am, with Reverend James Travis officiating, and Jim Stock, organist. Pallbearers include the following: Bruce Tjaden, Gregg Hoagland, Gordon Crampton, Terry Crampton, Bob Frank, and Jim Suiter. Burial will be at the Wall Lake Cemetery under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Friday, September 3rd, 4:00-7:00 pm, at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Lake View.
