Rodney Dean “Hot Rod” Heun

Graveside services will be held for Rodney D. Heun, age 34, of Sac City, on Wednesday, September 17, 2003, at Cory Grove Cemetery, Sac City, at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Sharla Hulsey offciating. Pallbearers include: Chad R. Lynch, Terry Cook, Todd Vauble, Bill Pemble, Jeff Kreft, and Dean Rubendall.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 16, 4:00-8:00 pm, at Farber & Otteman Funeral Home, Sac City.

Rodney Dean “Hot Rod” Heun, age 34, of Sac City, Iowa, died on Friday, September 12, 2003, at his parents home in Sac City, Iowa.

Rod was born on October 4, 1968, in Sac City, the son of Howard and Nancy (McKinney) Heun. He graduated from Sac City High School in 1987 and worked with his father in the excavating business.

On December 5, 1992, Rod was united in marriage to Joelle Rubendall. They had two sons: Cody and Caleb.

He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting, and spending time with his boys and friends. He was a very good father to his boys and was very proud of them.

Survivors include his sons Cody and Caleb Heun of Sac City; his mother Nancy; two brothers: Randy Heun of Colorado Springs, CO, and Dennis Heun and his wife Francine of Henderson, NV; a sister RaNay Freese of Wall Lake, IA; nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

Rodney was preceded in death by his brother Craig Heun.
