Frank Riemenschneider

Service for Frank Riemenschneider of Wall Lake is Friday, November 7, 2003, at 2:00 p.m., at the Wheatland Presbyterian Church, rural Breda, with Reverend Donald Gibson officiating, Marilyn Hundling, organist, Shelley Hundling, pianist, and congregational singing. Donna von Glan and Arlan Willems will take care of the flowers. The pallbearers include: Charles Hundling, Ken Bru, David Hundling, John Whaley, Jr., Arlan Willems, and Cary Riemenschneider. Burial will be at the Wheatland Cemetery, with full military graveside rites by the Wall Lake American Legion Chalon Post No. 262.

Visitation will be at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Wall Lake from 4:00 0 8:00 pm on Thursday, November 06, 2003.

Frank Riemenschneider, age 88, of Wall Lake, IA, formerly of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on November 4, 2003, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll, IA.

On October 1, 1915, Frank was born in Marshall County, Iowa, the son of George and Alice (Stott) Riemenschneider. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in State Center and attended State Center grade school and high school graduating in 1934.

Frank was united in marriage to Mildred A. Reed on September 1, 1940, in Marshalltown, Iowa. During World War II he served his country in the US Army, from June 8, 1944 to December 6, 1945. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal.

He worked at the Fisher Governor Company from June 11, 1940, through September 20, 1980, when he retired. He enjoyed being outdoors, mowing lawn, gardening, and feeding the birds. He especially enjoyed listening to the Iowa Hawkeye games.

Frank joined the Wheatland Presbyterian Church in Breda on April 22, 2001.

Survivors include his daughter Marilyn Hundling and her husband Charles of Breda, IA; brother-in-law Clifford Reed and his wife Lois of Marshalltown, IA; extended family and friends.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Mildred, December 24, 2001; four sisters: Hilda, Helen, Carol, and Margaret; and three brothers: Kenneth, George, and Donald.
